We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry Level Insurance Loss Control Inspector.

Job Description:

As an Entry Level Independent Contractor Insurance Loss Control Inspector, you will conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial properties, focusing on property, and general liability. You will gather information, take photographs, and create detailed reports for insurance underwriting purposes. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within the insurance industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial properties within a defined territory (approximately 60-mile radius).
  • Document property conditions, potential hazards, and relevant exposures through photographs and written observations.
  • Gather information related to property construction, occupancy, and safety measures.
  • Prepare accurate and timely inspection reports using web-based systems or uploading completed reports, photos, and diagrams through a designated website.
  • Communicate effectively with property owners and insurance company representatives.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Manage your schedule and prioritize assignments effectively.
  • Learn and apply basic principles of insurance loss control.
  • Observe and report on conditions that could lead to insurance claims.
  • Observe and report on conditions that could lead to property damage.

Required Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to upload photos and complete online reports.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel within a 60-mile radius.  
  • Bonus skills:
    • Experience with home inspections.
    • Experience with insurance claims processing, even if basic.
    • Familiarity with residential or commercial construction.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
