Accounting Manager

Location: Yarmouth, Maine
Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the fundamental aspects of financial recordkeeping including the recording of financial transactions and managing accounts payable and receivables. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. This role will serve as a consultant for managers within the organization, advising them of current budgetary information and to ensure management has timely information to manage the business.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Accounting Manager responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Recording payroll in general ledger
  • Account Reconciliations
  • Month/Year end journal entries
  • Monthly reporting
  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting and business data to support management’s decision making
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of progressive financial experience
  • Proven knowledge of GAAP and ability to generate accurate and detailed reports
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cultivate productive working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Computer fluency, especially in Excel and QuickBooks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize daily activities to meet deadlines
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
